چکیده
The vulnerability of bridges and the effectiveness suitable mitigation techniques in regions exposed to different seismic scenarios, while lacking reliable fragility assessment studies for existing bridge inventory, need focused attention. Further, several retrofit were proposed improving performance bridges, limitations such approaches further investigation. Thus, this study assesses a benchmark structure representing pre-seismic code multi-span an earthquake-prone region before after mitigate earthquake-related losses. numerical modeling selected systems verified using results previous experimental studies. Detailed three-dimensional fiber-based (3DFB) simulation models then developed assess response under effects diverse earthquake records far-field near-source scenarios both longitudinal transverse directions. obtained from inelastic pushover analyses (IPAs) incremental dynamic (IDAs) confirmed pressing actions reduce expected losses scenarios. Higher damage probabilities observed far-source events at lower intensities than their near-field counterparts. Based on probabilistic study, it is concluded that retrofitting with buckling restrained braces (BRBs) effective measure increase lateral strength overcome high curvature ductility (CD) demands bents, particularly most critical scenario. provides insight into impacts contemporary substandard presents range functions risks.

Assessment of an RC existing hospital building with special moment frame using fragility curve
In this study, an existing hospital structure has been evaluated with incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). This building is accommodated in Karaj with soil type II. At first, two 2-D frames along X, Y direction are selected. Then, five performance levels are determined according to “Rehabilitation Code for Existing Buildings (Publication No. 360) including Immediate Operational (IO), Limited Dam...

With rapid population growth over the past 30 years and no significance seismic activity during this period, the unchecked development of the built environment in Bangladesh has been resulted in little resilience to earthquake. Identifying buildings due to this unchecked development that has high vulnerability is of critical importance both for reliable loss estimation as a result of an expecte...

Many existing bridges were designed without adequate consideration of seismic risk. The full or partial collapse of even one major bridge in a city or community would have destroying results. There has been focuses on developing fragility-based seismic vulnerability of existing usual bridges in Iran or support decision making on seismic upgrade. This article focuses on developing performance b...

This paper describes a method of performance evaluation and remaining life prediction for an aged reinforced concrete (RC) T-girder bridge by J-BMS RC version via close visual inspection data, and also verifies the assessment results obtained as outputs from the Bridge Rating Expert System (RC-BREX) which is a subsystem of the J-BMS, to evaluate the effectiveness of the system. The Bridge Manag...
متن کاملSeismic fragility assessment of RC moment resisting frame buildings designed for different editions of Iranian seismic design code
Background and objective: Developing fragility and vulnerability functions are important tools in seismic reliability assessment of buildings and are widely used in regional seismic risk studies. To date sufficient studies for developing analytical fragility functions for Iranian code-conforming buildings have not been carried out. Performing such studies are necessary to assess the adequacy of...
